Where Environment Connects Our Learning

Who we are - Stroud Preschool is a not-for-profit, community-managed preschool offering early childhood education for aged 3 years old until they go to formal schooling. The preschool is located behind the School of Arts in Stroud and is fortunate to have a large natural outdoor learning environment. All families who attend the preschool join us as a member of the Co-Operative along with any interested community members. Each year the members vote in representatives to hold a position on the preschool's Management Committee alongside the Preschool Directors.

Our History - Stroud Preschool started in 1974 and operated from Stroud Public School for 10 years before moving to our present location. Over the years, the preschool has extended the hours and the days that children can attend so that we now open 5 days per week.

Cost of Preschool - The preschool is funded by the NSW State Government by a funding agreement called 'Start Strong Funding'. To ensure that children are getting the Departments required 15 hours of early education, the children attend 2 days per week. This allows for a reduced rate of fees and allows consistency and routine. Additional days may be available. Communication about the cost of each of fees will occur just before you start each new year.

Operating Hours - 8.30am to 4pm during the NSW school terms - we are closed during public holidays and school holidays.

We respect and embrace the Aboriginal people of this region as the traditional custodians and cultural knowledge holders of this land.
